The Office of Student Equity and Inclusion (OSEI) convenes a Council on Student Equity and Inclusion to bring together staff from student affairs, deans and faculty from academic affairs to work together on issues related to DEI and foster communication about best practices and new initiatives. This approach fosters synergy across Georgetown’s Hilltop campus.

Here & Now Subcommittee
The Here and Now Subcommittee makes recommendations to the Associate Vice President of Student Equity and Inclusion on matters of current events and best practices centering DEI work as it relates to the greater Georgetown University.
Equity Review Subcommittee
The Equity and Review subcommittee makes recommendations to the Associate Vice President of Student Equity and Inclusion on matters of documents and processes used to guide departmental or unit equity reviews at Georgetown.
Faculty and Staff Development Subcommittee
The Faculty and Staff Development subcommittee offers recommendations to the Associate Vice President of Student Equity and Inclusion in the hopes of promoting more equitable practices by transforming our current systems of governance, campus-wide education, and faculty and staff development. This also include discussions relating to cultural competence training of staff and faculty at Georgetown.
Strategic Planning Subcommittee
The Strategic Planning subcommittee makes recommendations to the Associate Vice President of Student Equity and Inclusion on developing OSEI’s strategies, makes decisions on allocating its resources to pursue such plans and helps to develop ideas for implementation.
Provost’s Student Diversity Committee
The Provost’s Committee for Diversity was convened in 2014 to bring together students, faculty and staff around issues regarding inclusivity at Georgetown. While often this student-driven group engages with issues of race, important concerns centered on many communities, including undocumented students, specific interest groups such as Latin American students, and first-generation students for example, are also addressed.

Email osei@georgetown.edu in order to join a council subcommittee. Please be aware that each subcommittee has a quorum maximum and therefore space is limited. The Council for Student Equity and Inclusion is now on hiatus and will reconvene, September 2020. Those who are interested in joining a subcommittee may still do so.
